Abstract

We propose to obtain real time spectroscopic follow-up observations of extremely young supernovae (SNe) that we are discovering with the ALeRCE broker. Such observations will allow us to gather crucial information on the nature of the SN progenitor which are impossible to obtain if the spectroscopic followup start later in the evolution of the SN. Selecting targets in real time for the proposed observations is very challenging and this is the reason why, so far, they have been gathered for only a very limited number of SNe. Nevertheless, thanks to a set of sophisticate tools we developed we can achieve our goal of starting the spectroscopic follow-up at most after two days after the SN explosion.
