Abstract
The recurrent nova U Sco, which unusually has a sub-giant secondary, has gone into its first eruption since 2010. The evolution of its eruption is extremely rapid, and we request 5 visits with cadence of ~4 days, to obtain low resolution JHK spectroscopy with Flamingos2. We will be able to determine the ejected mass, determine whether abundances in the ejecta are epoch-dependent, and whether velocity structure in the ejecta depends on orbital phase.
