Abstract
We propose to measure stellar atmospheric parameters (Teff, logg, and [Fe/H]) and carbon-abundance ratios, [C/Fe], for a sample of 29 metal-poor star candidates, by obtaining medium-resolution GMOS-S spectroscopy. These stars were selected based on narrow band photometry from the J-PLUS data. With estimated Teff, logg, [Fe/H], and [C/Fe] in hand, derived by our well-tested spectroscopic analysis pipeline, we will be able to test our parameter estimates derived from photometry, and improve our determinations for future data releases. If these candidates are confirmed to be low-metallicity, high- resolution spectroscopy can be carried out with Gemini/GHOST and SOAR/STELES.
