Abstract

Wide field submillimetre surveys are beginning to unearth rare and extreme starburts at z>4 which present unique tests of models of galaxy formation. We have a sample of 5 sources at z=4-7 which are potentially the most luminous starbursts found to date and require near-IR imaging to confirm their hyper-luminous nature.
