Abstract

We propose to make 25 micron imaging observations of southern nearby Herbig Ae/Be stars (HAeBes) to probe the structure of the protoplanetary disks surrounding them. We have collected 25 micron images of northern nearby HAeBes using Subaru/COMICS and succeeded to show the inner ?hole? or gaps in some disks such as HD 142527 and AB Aur. Proposed observations are the extention of our 25 micron imaging survey to southern sources. These observations will allow us to complete our 25 micron imaging survey of nearby HAeBe stars in both hemispheres and also contribute to our understanding on the evolution of the protoplanetary disk structures, especially the inner rim of the outer disk and gaps, which should be related to the ongoing planet formation.
