Title:V842 Cen and RS Oph remnant anatomy using 2D spectral data

Abstract

The project described in this contribution aims to study the structure of nova shells and their ionizing sources. This question will be addressed by improved physical and chemical diagnostics derived from spatially resolved spectroscopic and photometric observations. New model constraints of V842 Cen, a intermediate polar, and RS Oph, a recurrent nova, can be obtained using observations of the nebular continuum and spatial resolved spectra. The comparison with HR Del observations (Moraes and Diaz AJ 2009 in press) can give information about the influence of the photo-ionization by the inner regions of the accretion disk and the WD mass in shaping the remnant. The RS Opd data may give information about the mass growing of the WD and if this object will explode as a SN type I.
