Abstract

We propose to carry out an intensive near-IR reverberation-mapping campaign on Mrk 817 in conjunction with an approved Hubble Space Telescope UV reverberation program. The proposed campaign will allow us to explore the outermost regions of the accretion disk, determine the location of the Paschen-line emitting gas, and search for dust in the outer broad-line region and the associated disk wind.
