Abstract
The age of beta Pictoris Moving Group (BPMG) has been one of the most important benchmark ages and its estimates range from 10Myr to 24Myr. The older age is based on the Lithium depletion boundary (LDB) analysis while the younger age is based on chromospheric and isochronal age-dating. By applying our recently published Bayesian membership calculation scheme to Gaia DR2 dwarfs within 100pc, we have identified several dozen low mass candidate members of BPMG. We propose to obtain GRACES/GMOS spectra for about 30 mid-M type candidate BPMG members to obtain RVs and Li6708 equivalent width (EW) measurements. RVs will confirm/reject candidate members, and Li EWs will be used in the thorough examination of its LDB with a sample size of at least two times larger than used in previous studies.
