Title: | Characterizing a New Nearby Young Association |

Abstract
High-precision astrometry from the Gaia mission has recently revealed the presence of a new stellar association in the foreground of the Taurus star-forming region (~120 pc). Given the value of nearby young associations for studies of the formation and early evolution of stars and planets, we propose to obtain GMOS spectra of the candidate members in order to measure their spectral types, confirm their youth (and hence their membership), and measure a precise age for the association with the lithium depletion boundary. The targets are relatively bright, so they can be observed in poor conditions.
