Abstract
The quasar SDSS J030000.57+004827.9 shows Ca II absorption outflowing at 1700-5700 km/s, and absorption from higher-ionization gas outflowing at higher velocities. This is the structure expected for a quasar outflow decelerating as it sweeps up the surrounding ISM. We will compare a second epoch of high-resolution spectroscopy to a first epoch from 2001, search for deceleration directly over a span of 9.5 rest-frame years, and use the resulting deceleration detection or limits to constrain the properties of the quasar outflow and surrounding ISM.
