Program: GN-2016B-Q-68

This proposal aims at compiling the highest resolution and S/N, instrumentally homogeneous and complete, NIR spectral atlas of O stars that has ever been published before, providing a more detailed insight into its spectral features, a better definition of the characteristics of every spectral type in the NIR, and contributing to build of a set of spectral standard O stars. This objective can be achieved with the GNIRS instrument configured at its highest spectral resolution limit. The proposal for this semester is to observe 3 optical spectral standard supergiant stars in the X, J, H and K bands. The other bands and other spectral standards of different luminosity class will be proposed to observe in the next semesters. The first 7 targets for this project were observed in 2013A and 2013B.
