Abstract
We request GMOS imaging observations of six very X-ray luminous galaxy clusters at z>0.5 discovered by the extended MAssive Cluster Survey (eMACS). Observing time for such systems was awarded in both 2015A and 2015B, however, the six targets of this proposal were discovered after the 2015A deadline and are located in the RA range 12-14 hours that is not observable in 2015B. The proposed, moderately deep observations will allow us to assess the optical richness and morphology of these extreme objects, unveil bright gravitational-lensing features, and yield publication-quality images. We request FT time to allow these systems to be included in our first catalog of eMACS clusters, to be published in the fall of 2015.
