Abstract

We propose to continue our study of luminous extended emission-line regions (EELRs) which are likely to be formed by gas driven out of the host galaxy by radio jet induced feedback. It is one active galactic nuclei (AGN) feedback mechanism that is capable of expelling gas on the order of $10^{10}$ M$_{\odot}$ (similar to the interstellar medium in the Milky Way). In addition to the radio loud hosts which this program had focused on so far, we propose to extend our investigation to luminous EELRs recently discovered around radio quiet objects, where either some other mechanisms are operating or a radio source has recently shut down. We plan to study the physical characteristics of the EELRs by obtaining high resolution IFU data using Gemini GMOS .
