Title: | The Nature of Two Fast X-ray Transients |

Abstract
We have identified two galactic X-ray transients showing unusually rapid variations, rare for low-mass X-ray binaries. Both have proposed near-IR (K-band) counterparts. To identify the spectral type of the likely companion stars (and thus the nature of these transients), we propose GNIRS cross-dispersed spectroscopy.
