Abstract

In our 2008B survey for planetary companions to nearby B-stars (GN-2008B-Q-59), we have detected several candidate companions that need to be followed up to test wether they share a common proper motion with the primary star. Here, we propose to follow up five of the stars with candidate companions that were observed in 2008B. If real, the candidates are in the mass range of 3-13 Mjup, corresponding to mass ratios with respect to the primaries of 0.1%-0.5%. Recent theoretical studies as well as observational results of companions to A-stars have indicated that such massive planets are more common around high-mass stars than around stars of solar-type masses or lower. This survey will help to determine whether this trend holds true also for even more massive stars.
