Abstract
Green Fuzzies were discovered in the recent Spitzer GLIMPSE survey data, and are intimately linked to star formation regions. They appear to be associated with nebulae around or outflows from massive young stellar objects. However, it has not been conclusively proven either way, in large part due to the fact that no one knows what chemicals are being enhanced to emit in these green fuzzies. I propose NIRI long slit L and M-band spectroscopic observations of sixteen of the brightest "green fuzzies" to determine the nature of the enhanced emission from these regions. The observations, reduction, and interpretation are very simple and obvious. The sources are expected to be bright in their line emission, and observations can be done in less-than-optimal conditions.
