Title:Optical Specroscopic Follow-Up of Taurus Proper-Motion Selected Candidates
PI:Mark Pitts
Co-I(s): Eugene Magnier

Abstract

As part of an approved PhD thesis, we have used a combination of proper-motion and optical/NIR colors to extract member candidates of the Taurus star-forming region. We propose to obtain low-resolution (R~2000) optical spectra of early-M type member candidates in order to detect signs of youth that will confirm their status as cluster members. To this end, we are requesting 7 hours of queue time using the long-slit mode on GMOS.
