Title: | Fainter Outer Satellites of the Giant Planets |
PI: | David Jewitt |
Co-I(s): | Scott Sheppard |
Abstract
In our outer satellite surveys of the giant planets we have found
that each planet, independent of mass and formation scenario, appear
to have very similar outer satellite systems. The interesting small
satellites, which would have been highly influenced from any gas still
present during their early capture are a key to understanding when these
satellites were captured. We will use GMOS in imaging mode on Gemini
North to recover the small satellites of the giant planets.
