Abstract
This staff DD time request contains two independent science programs,
confirmation of planetary mass companions to young stars (NIRI/Altair)
and JHK photometry/L band spectroscopy of metal rich white dwarfs (NIRI).
The planet and white dwarf programs require 4 & 6 hours, respectively.
Any confirmed planet is worthy of a fast publication. As shown in the
case of GD 362, our team has demonstrated fast data reduction and timely
paper preparation/submission. We expect the same turn around timescale
for data to be obtained with this DD request.
