GN-2006B-Q-83-2-001 | 2006-10-01 07:44:36 | This GCAL flat is central spectrum. I don't see a good reason to only read out the central spectrum for these science observations especially since there is a secondary object that has extended emission and more interesting objects may fall along the slit. I have changed the ROI for this science observation and all unexecuted science observations to FULL FRAME. |

GN-2006B-Q-83-2-006 | 2006-10-01 08:53:12 | guide counts up again. Exposures 211 - 215 are taken in HIGH gain, presumably because the PI is afraid there are emission lines that will saturate? Please be aware that we do not normally take science data in high gain, it is therefore not very well characterized. Please consider taking these observation in low gain for the remaining observations since I see no features in the data that are anywhere close to saturation. If you are concerned about saturation I think it would be better to decrease the exposure time than to use high gain, since these observations are 10 minutes long and you can easily shorten the exposure time. |
